The bridal train is a group of ladies and men that provide support to the bride and groom on days leading up to the wedding and on the wedding day. These are your squad, your clique, your leading Ladies and Gents, your A-Team, your Support Group, your Hype-Men and Women. While the bride and groom are the two most important people at a wedding, the fun that comes with your wedding is being able to celebrate and anticipate your big day with your closest friends by your side serving as your bridal train. It’s important you put in some deep thoughts in choosing them, no sentiment or guilt trip.
– Have a number in mind – I usually advise to keep your bridal party proportionate to your number of guests. However, quality over quantity is very important. The more isn’t always the merrier.
– Don’t choose out of obligation – Be sure whoever you are going to choose is who you really want on your train. Not because they are your sister or brother or because you were once on their train too.
– Consider their personalities – You need people that are friendly, cordial, and can transition easily between groups not people that will cause unnecessary drama. You don’t need all that.
– Assign task – Let everyone on the train know what you need them for. Remember they are there to provide support and not give you more headaches. You know your friends, so give them roles that fit their personality
– Choose people that are willing – People that are willing to serve you on your big day not those that think they are doing you a favour. Choose people who love and care about you enough to show up when you need them. Choose people who will be are genuinely happy for you and who will be your support system.
